Great Groom and Very Comfortable Environment

B from Maddiston

Jemma has a real knack with dogs, my Seamus was really comfortable with Jemma and his groom, and he is a timid and nervous boy. His groom was very neat and tidy, he smelled lovely, and his coat was very soft. Very happy to recommend JQ Dog Grooming and will be using Jemma in the future.

Great service!

C from Falkirk

We said cheerio to Hairy Maclary from Donaldson’s Dairy and hello to Toto from The Wizard of Oz after Jemma had worked her magic on Roddy the Scottie. Definitely the best cut and blow dry he has ever had! Roddy trotted off happily and returned looking braw and smelling fragrant. Excellent value for money too. Thank you JQ!

Terms and Conditions

Terms & Conditions

Please read this document carefully and provide your signature to confirm that all our policies, terms and conditions are fully understood.

Booking, Lateness and Cancellation Policy
A deposit of 50% of the estimated groom cost is required at the time of booking.

Cancellations to be made 48 hours prior to appointment at latest, please ensure you take all precautions not to miss your appointment.

Late Cancellations will incur a cancellation fee of 50% of your appointment cost. Any cancellations made with less than 48 hours notice will incur a cancellation fee of 100% of your appointment cost which will need to be paid before further appointments can be booked.

If you arrive more than 15 minutes late for your appointment you may be asked to reschedule, and the cancellation fee will apply.

If you consistently miss appointments, refuse to pay the cancellation fee, or arrive late on a number of occasions I may refuse to book in any future appointments and remove your details from my records.
Late Collection Policy
Please make sure you are on time to collect your dogs. I will give you an agreed time or we will agree that I will let you know 30 minutes before they are ready. There will be a leeway of 15 minutes past the agreed time. If you are more than 15 minutes late past the agreed time, then a late fee of £5 extra for every 15 minutes that you are late will apply. This charge is in place as I am a one-to-one groomer and if you are late to pick up your dog it upsets the schedule for the entire day, or I may have to reschedule other clients booked in for that day.

Flea Policy
If I find fleas on your dog during the groom, there will be an additional charge of on top of the original groom price. This is to cover costs for fumigating and deep cleaning of the salon.
If you suspect your dog has fleas before their appointment, please contact me to reschedule as I must cancel all remaining dogs that are scheduled in for that day.
Bitches in Season and Pregnant Dogs
I will not groom your dog if she is pregnant or in season. Dogs in season can display behavioural changes or feel out-of-sorts. Also, entire males can be upset by the presence of a dog in season.

Any dog recently spayed or neutered must receive a clean bill of health from the vets before I proceed with their groom.

Health & Wellbeing
Toileting: We ask that you give your pet the opportunity to be relieved before they enter the grooming salon.

Food: Please do not feed your pet within 30 minutes prior to their appointment.

Vaccinations: All customers are responsible for keeping their pet up to date with vaccinations.

Puppy Groom: For the health of your puppy, you should wait 2 weeks after your puppy’s second vaccination and your puppy should be a minimum of 13 weeks of age before booking a puppy groom.

Microchipping: We will not groom any pet that has been microchipped within 24 hours before a grooming appointment.

Health (prior to appointment): You must inform the groomer of any medical conditions affecting your pet. We may ask you to provide a letter from your pet’s vet confirming that they are fit to be groomed before the groom is carried out.

Health (on arrival to appointment): If your pet appears unwell at the time of the appointment, they will not be accepted for grooming due to the risk of cross infection to other pets. In this case you will be asked to re-book the grooming appointment once your pet has received vet attention and has fully recovered.

Emergency Vet Treatment: Should your pet require emergency vet treatment whilst it is at our premises and should you not be present at the time, you confirm that we are authorised to seek such vet treatment in your absence and that you will be responsible for paying the costs of such vet treatment.

Insurance: We strongly advise you to consider insuring your pet.

Aggressive Dogs
I would love to be able to help and groom all dogs, but I do not groom aggressive dogs. As I work alone from my home it would not be safe for me to do so.

Dangerous Dogs
I will not groom any dog that must be registered under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 and/or the Dangerous Dogs (Amendment) Act 1997 (as such Acts may be amended from time to time).

Dogs Who Have Difficulty Being Groomed
I strive to ensure that your dog has a relaxed and enjoyable time whilst in my care. I am continuously updating and evaluating my knowledge and skills about how to give your dog the upmost care and different grooming techniques to help your dog have a stress-free groom. Unfortunately some dogs do find the grooming process, or parts of it, very stressful.

I will not perform any grooming procedure that will cause your dog excessive stress which may be detrimental to their mental wellbeing, or that is putting them or myself in danger of being injured.
I will terminate the groom if your dog becomes too stressed to continue and costs will be owed for any work done to this point.

I may work with your dog to gain their trust and help to reduce any anxieties, but these will be in shorter sessions and come at an additional cost to be discussed.

For dogs that need a little more patience, care, and extra time due to stress but are able to complete their groom, this will be charged at an additional cost on top of their original groom price.
Social Media Policy
I love sharing your pets and my grooms on my social media pages and website. It also allows me to show prospective clients my work. I will never share your dog’s photo for any other reason without first seeking your permission.

Please ensure you fill in the relevant details in your client information if you do not wish me to share images of your dog.

I will never share your personal details via social media or otherwise.
